The St Andrew’s Wellbeing Centre is now open, offering a calm, supportive sanctuary for patients, families, and caregivers before, during, and after treatment. Designed as a place to step away from the clinical environment, the Centre allows visitors to pause, take a deep breath, and focus on emotional, practical, and social wellbeing.
This Centre embodies our commitment to holistic care, recognising that health is not just about treating the body but also nurturing the mind and supporting emotional wellbeing. Whether through workshops, informal conversations, or simply taking a moment to relax in one of our peaceful spaces, we aim to make a meaningful difference to everyone who walks through our doors.
Patient voices at the heart of the Centre
The Wellbeing Centre was developed with the generous input of our patient community. Their insights and experiences helped shape every element of the space and its programs, ensuring the Centre truly meets the needs of those it serves.
Opening and membership
Following a six-month pilot, the Centre opened to all St Andrew’s cancer patients in July 2025. It is located at 337 South Terrace, within our innovative green healthcare precinct.
Membership is free for two years to all patients currently undergoing cancer care at St Andrew’s Hospital or the St Andrew’s Chemotherapy Suite. Partners, carers, and friends are welcome to register alongside patients. Programs are available exclusively to registered members and their guests.
Building connection and reducing isolation
We know that connection is essential to wellbeing. Research, including guidance from the World Health Organization, shows that meaningful social connection improves health outcomes and reduces loneliness. Through shared spaces and programs designed to foster connection and belonging, the Wellbeing Centre helps reduce social isolation, particularly at a time when patients and caregivers may feel most alone.
Generous support makes it possible
The Wellbeing Centre is made possible through the generosity of our private benefactors, HPS Pharmacies, and the St Andrew’s Hospital Foundation. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the patients and carers whose guidance helped shape this offering.
We look forward to supporting you on your wellbeing journey.
