About Us

St Andrew's Hospital Foundation

The St Andrew's Hospital Foundation was founded on St Andrew's Day in 2000 to raise vital funds in support of the hospital.

Through the generous support of donors and corporations, we fund state-of-the-art equipment, create calm and contemporary spaces, and invest in the expertise of our clinicians through scholarships and ongoing professional development.

Driven by a deep commitment to enhancing patient experience, we actively partner to fund initiatives that advance innovation in cancer care and support the St Andrew’s Wellbeing Centre.

Our signature events, including the St Andrew’s Breast Care Luncheon, the St Andrew’s Classic Golf Day, and the much-anticipated 90th Anniversary Gala in late 2026, bring our community together in shared purpose and generosity.

As a registered charity and endorsed Deductible Gift Recipient, all donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.

Our Patron

We are proud to have Mrs Lan Le, OAM serving as the Patron of the St Andrew's Hospital Foundation since October 2021.

Following seven years of service alongside her husband, The Honourable Hieu Van Le AC, during his tenure as Governor of South Australia, we were honoured when Mrs Le accepted this role.

Lan, born in Da Nang, Vietnam, arrived in Australia with her husband in 1977. She graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work from the South Australian Institute of Technology in 1985 and worked for over 30 years as a social worker and rehabilitation consultant in various Commonwealth Government departments.

Throughout her career, Lan built a deep understanding of client service delivery and team leadership. Her work was recognised with several awards, including the Australia Day Achievement Award in 1997 and the CRS Australia National Award for Excellence in 2000.

During her time as the Governor’s spouse, Lan supported more than 35 organisations as a patron and ambassador, developing meaningful relationships across the community sector. She continues to champion community wellbeing and has recently been awarded Life Membership of Palliative Care SA and Cystic Fibrosis SA. She is also an Honorary Member of the Rose Society of SA and an ambassador for both Grandparents for Grandchildren and The Memorial Hospital’s Centenary Celebration.

Lan says she is honoured to serve as Patron of the St Andrew’s Hospital Foundation as it continues its important work into its third decade. She is passionate about the Foundation’s role in supporting staff, funding advanced equipment, and contributing to the wellbeing of patients and their families. She looks forward to continuing to serve the St Andrew’s community.
